What skills do I need to become an approved driving instructor?
An Approved Driving Instructor should possess the following qualities:
- Patience - with some student drivers you will have to keep going over the same things many times
- Understanding - you must be able to understand the students needs and feelings
- Good communication skills
- Inter-personnel skills - you must be able to deal with the public in a non aggressive manner
- Creativity - sometimes you have to be creative to put a point across

Is there a demand for female instructors?
Absolutely, many pupils request that they have a lady instructor. Many female instructors, particularly if they have family commitments, find the flexible working hours very convenient.

How long wit it take to qualify as an ADI?
To become an ADI, you have to pass three examinations, one theory/hazard perception and two practical. You have a two year time period starting from the date you pass the part one test. The course can be completed on average between five to nine months; this can be affected by DSA waiting times for tests.

Will I be able to continue work in my current employment while studying for the tests?
Yes, your training can be tailored to fit in with your commitments. Lessons can be arranged at any time during the day or evenings.

How much can I earn?
If you average 40 hours a week you can earn £30k plus.

When can I start the course?
As soon as you have had your assessment/interview with us.

Do I have to share my training time with other trainees?
No, all the in-car training is carried out on a one to one basis, so you get the full time that you booked.
